Our covenant with God is stronger than David and Jonathan’s. We did not do anything to deserve it, we simply come to the king’s table and eat. It’s important that we too understand the covenant agreement that God has with us.
Because of the covenant between David and his father, Jonathan, Mephibosheth could now eat at the king’s table. Mephibosheth did not know about the covenant David had with his father. Mephibosheth was crippled in his feet because he was dropped as a baby. Finally, Ziba, a servant from Saul’s house, told David about Mephibosheth, the grandson of Saul. David had desired to show kindness to a descendant of Jonathan but could not locate one. #goodthoughts #bible #good #spiritled #wagesofsin #trustGod #devotionalĭavid had become king over Israel and after becoming king, He remembered Jonathan, his covenant friend. It is His will that we prosper and be in health even as our soul prospers. Let us walk with God and allow Him to cause spiritual well-being in our lives. Let us decide to become more spiritual minded. Satan desires to bring destruction in our lives and we cannot give him any place. When your mind is on pleasing your flesh, you will eventually experience death is inevitable because the wages of sin is death. This allows us to become spiritual minded and we become more aware of His Presence. Walking with God includes reading His Word and spending time with Him in prayer. We experience the life and peace as we walk with God. Verse six of our text tells us that the mind of the Spirit is life and peace. For us to experience that good life, we must think God’s thoughts. It is His desire that we live the good life that He has preordained for us to live. God’s thoughts towards us are always good. #spiritled #holyspirit #arkofthecovenant #dailydevotional #motivation #iamvictory
God said in His Word that He will teach us to profit and lead us in the way that we should go (Isaiah 48:17). As we continue to fellowship with God through prayer and the reading of His Word, we will stay sensitive to the Spirit of God, and we will stay alert to His promptings and His leading. Our lives should be governed and controlled by the Spirit of God. We should only move when He tells us to move. If we are to experience God’s best and all that He has for our lives, we must stay in sync with the Spirit of God. If the ark did not move, they would not move either. If they were to succeed in possessing the Promised Land, they would have to follow the ark of the covenant. The ark of the covenant was what “housed” the presence of the Lord. It was imperative that they follow God and to be where He wanted them to be. The Israelites were in the process of possessing the land. #lightinthedarkness #inspiration #christianity #dailydevotional #timothy #wednesdaywisdom He is counting on us to be not only an example, but to be a light in this dark world. We are God’s ambassadors, and we must strive to represent Him accurately here on the earth. The goal of this devotional is not to bring condemnation, but sobriety. It could cause someone to backslide because they thought you were a Christian. When we are hypocritical in our actions, acting like one person in church, and someone else outside of church, it can be detrimental to someone else’s walk with God. It doesn’t mean that you won’t make a mistake, but at the very least, you are striving to be more like Christ. It can cause someone to see that there is someone who is capable of living the life of a Christian. It can strengthen someone else’s resolve. When our actions reflect our belief system, it influences others. Paul even told Timothy to be an example to the believer (I Timothy 4:12). One reason why it is important is because people are watching you.
